Significance
Responsible behaviour can solve many issues in society. There are instances of campaigns that have helped in rehabilitation after a natural disaster. Some corporates have adopted a local community and have worked for their betterment. Young teams set out to remote areas to educate children as well as adults. A few organisations have fought against child labour. A group of organisations has come together to support the cause of global warming and other environmental concerns. These organisations may not have reaped financial profits, but their commitment to such issues leaves a positive impact in the society.
On the other hand, irresponsible behaviour by corporate organisations can result in the destruction of individuals, communities and the environment. Factories, industries that release chemical impurities into the air and water are likely to pollute the environment. Also, inhaling polluted air or drinking contaminated water may result in various health hazards. So, these organisations should strictly follow the government regulations and adhere to the environmental policies. Working in sectors like oil and gas industries is extremely risky to the employees. So they have to pay attention to the workers’ safety. There are big organisations that require huge manpower in their operations. Some of these organisations employ children, which is an offence. A few organisations are accused of ill-treating their workers. All these are major concerns to the society. We would like to throw light on the practices of corporate social responsibility and the favourable results.
